Product Care

Wash bamboo items with warm water and mild soap and pat dry. As with all hand made and natural items, do not place your Bambutique items in the microwave or dishwasher.

How we create our products

In a rural area of Vietnam a villager cuts a bamboo stalk a few feet above its root. The stalk will grow back at a rate of a meter per day, and will never have to be replanted. The cut bamboo is soaked in the water flats surrounding the village for six months; a natural way to soften the fibers and gently wash away impurities.

The villager sun dries the bamboo and, after gently cutting it into strips, embarks on a two month task of hand crafting a unique work of art, coiling the strips and softly applying gleaming layers of a special all natural vegetable lacquer.

From the villager’s workshop Bambutique selects only the finest of these items for its clientele.
